Bang Bang Broccoli

If you are bored with the typical broccoli recipes, this will definitely spark your taste buds! This tasty, crispy broccoli dish pair well with veggie lo-mein or veggie fried rice! the sauce drizzled on top adds a nice spicy feel into the dish as well! 

1 head of broccoli, chopped in florets

1 cup plant milk

3/4 cup flour (all purpose or gluten-free)

1/2 cup corn starch 

1 tbsp hot sauce of choice 

Dash of salt 

1 tsp ACV (apple cider vinegar)

2 cups panko bread crumbs (gluten-free breadcrumbs or chickpea crumbs work as well) 

Bang Bang Sauce

1/4 cup vegan mayo

3 tbsp chili paste 

2 tbsp agave or maple syrup 


Oil for frying (optional; can bake instead if desired)


Mix ingredients (minus broccoli) into a bowl to make batter. Add breadcrumbs in another bowl. Sit both aside.

Mix sauce ingredients in another bowl to create bang bang sauce and sit aside. 

Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. 

Dip each broccoli floret in the wet batter then in the bowl with the breadcrumbs. Repeat until all the broccoli is breaded. 

Place broccoli in hot oil and cook 3-4 minutes on each side or until gold ten brown on each side. 

Remove and enjoy 

Bake optional: Bake on 425 F for 17-20 minutes or until golden brown.
