Churro Wonut (Waffle Donuts)

Churros remind me of warm summer nights with a cool breeze. This is the perfect season to make these babies. What make these so special is that these are WONUTS! If you do not know what a wonut is, it is a waffle donut. I am sure these churro wonuts will be your new favorite dessert this summer!


Churro Wonut (Waffle Donut)

Serving: 4 People

1 cup flour

1/2 cup plant-based milk

1 tsp baking powder

1 tbsp flax meal

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup sugar

4 tbsp melted vegan butter (can also use coconut oil)

1/2 cup sugar

3-4 tbsp cinnamon

3 tbsp melted vegan butter

Place flax meal in a small bowl w/ 2.5 tbsp water. Let set to form “egg like” consistency

Place dry ingredient in a large bowl (flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda) and mix well

Add wet ingredients (melted vegan butter, non dairy milk and vanilla extract) and mix to form dough.

Place sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and mix together. Sit aside for later

Scoop some of the donut batter mixture and place on the heated waffle maker. Cook for 3-5 mins depending on the settings on your waffle maker.

Repeat step 5 until all wonuts are cooked.

Rub some warm melted butter on the wonuts and dip them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
